Seven Universes And Seven Earths*

[65:12] GOD created seven universes and the same number of earths. The commands flow among them. This is to let you know that GOD is Omnipotent, and that GOD is fully aware of all things.

The Purpose of Our Life*

[67:2] The One who created death and life for the purpose of distinguishing those among you who would do better.* He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.

[67:3] He created seven universes in layers. You do not see any imperfection in the creation by the Most Gracious. Keep looking; do you see any flaw?

[67:4] Look again and again; your eyes will come back stumped and conquered.

[67:5] We adorned the lowest universe with lamps, and guarded its borders with projectiles against the devils; we prepared for them a retribution in Hell.

[67:6] For those who disbelieved in their Lord, the retribution of Gehenna. What a miserable destiny.

[67:7] When they get thrown therein, they hear its furor as it fumes.

[67:8] It almost explodes from rage. Whenever a group is thrown therein, its guards would ask them, "Did you not receive a warner?"

[67:9] They would answer, "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we disbelieved and said, 'GOD did not reveal anything. You are totally astray.'"

[67:10] They also say, "If we heard or understood, we would not be among the dwellers of Hell!"

[67:11] Thus, they confessed their sins. Woe to the dwellers of Hell.

[67:12] As for those who reverence their Lord, when alone in their privacy, they have attained forgiveness and a great recompense.

[67:13] Whether you keep your utterances secret, or declare them, He is fully aware of the innermost thoughts.

[67:14] Should He not know what He created? He is the Sublime, Most Cognizant.

• Hierarchy: The seven heavens are often described as being nested, with each higher heaven containing the one below it.
• The lowest heaven: This is understood to be our own universe, containing the stars, which the Quran refers to as "lamps" or "lights".
• The 7th heaven: This is the highest level of creation, and it is considered the closest to Allah's throne and the entry to paradise (Jannah) for the righteous. 

Possible interpretations of the seven heavens 

• Atmosphere: Some interpretations suggest the seven heavens are the seven layers of the Earth's atmosphere, such as the troposphere, stratosphere, and mesosphere, among others.
• Universes/celestial systems: Other interpretations, supported by some scholars, see the seven heavens as multiple universes or vast celestial systems, such as galaxies, clusters, and superclusters, all stacked on top of one another.
• Spiritual and physical: Some views see a combination of physical and spiritual layers, with each heaven containing different angelic beings and functions. 

"Heaven" as Jannah (Paradise) 

• It is important to distinguish between "heavens" as celestial layers and "Heaven" as Jannah or paradise.
• Jannah is the final destination for the righteous after death and is described as a place of eternal peace, joy, and reunion with family.
