the sacrifices, made by fire are their inheritance (the tribe of levi) josh 13.14

 josh 13.14 King James Bible
Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.

Genesis 3:22   And the LORD God said, Behold,
the man is become as one of us, to know good
and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand,
and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live
 for ever:

So we see in Genesis, Life started out eternal,
but due to a human error, the ease of eternal
life by a piece of fruit,  was taken away &
\ a law was given. Very few carried it out
perfectly, most died. Not all died tho,
a flaming chaiot came down from heaven
and picked up Elijah.  God loves us so
much he sacraficed his son.
