Yes, the Quran is filled with mentions of covenants ('ahd' and 'mīthāq') between Allah (God) and humanity, covering various relationships: a primordial one with all humans (Q7:172), specific ones with past prophets and peoples like the Children of Israel and Christians, and commitments between individuals. These covenants often involve divine guidance in exchange for faith, obedience (prayer, charity, belief in messengers), and righteous conduct, with consequences for breaking them.

Key Covenants Mentioned in the Quran:
  • Primordial Covenant (Q7:172): Allah questioned the "progeny of Adam" from their loins, asking, "'Am I not your Lord?'" and they all affirmed, creating an innate human recognition of God as the sustainer, a testimony against them on Judgment Day.
  • Covenant with the Children of Israel: A pledge to worship only God, be good to parents and the needy, speak kindly, pray, and give alms, with promises of forgiveness and paradise for keeping it, and curses for breaking it, as seen in Surah Al-Ma'idah (Quran 5:12-13) and other verses.
  • Covenant with People of Scripture (Jews & Christians): Allah took pledges from them to uphold their scriptures and believe in future messengers, but many broke their commitments, leading to spiritual hardening and enmity, notes Al-Islam.org.
  • Covenant with Prophets: Allah made covenants with prophets like Abraham (Ibrahim), promising leadership, and with all prophets to accept and support any later messenger who confirmed their message, notes Al Islam.
  • Covenant with Prophet Muhammad & Believers: Believers pledged allegiance to Prophet Muhammad, which is seen as an allegiance to Allah, with promises of great reward for fulfilling the pledge and detriment for breaking it.
Types of Covenants:
  • Between Allah & Humanity: The fundamental pledge of monotheism and guidance.
  • Between Individuals: Covenants between spouses, partners, and nations.
  • Between God & Prophets: Specific agreements for guidance and leadership

devil & satan of the quran

those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of the Evil One. Fight ye therefore against the friends of Satan; surely, Satan’s strategy is w
eak!

But the devils persistently plunge their ˹human˺ associates deeper into wickedness, sparing no effort. (Al-A'raf 7:202)

[2:34]
And We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam." They bowed down, except for Satan. He refused, was arrogant, and was one of the disbelievers.
[2:36]
But Satan caused them to slip from it, and caused them to depart the state they were in. We said, "Go down, some of you enemies of one another. And you will have residence on earth, and enjoyment for a while."
[2:168]
O people! Eat of what is lawful and good on earth, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. He is to you an open enemy.
[2:208]
O you who believe! Enter into submission, wholeheartedly, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan; he is to you an outright enemy.
[2:268]
Satan promises you poverty, and urges you to immorality; but God promises you forgiveness from Himself, and grace. God is Embracing and Knowing.
[2:275]
Those who swallow usury will not rise, except as someone driven mad by Satan's touch. That is because they say, "Commerce is like usury." But God has permitted commerce, and has forbidden usury. Whoever, on receiving advice from his Lord, refrains, may keep his past earnings, and his case rests with God. But whoever resumes—these are the dwellers of the Fire, wherein they will abide forever.
[3:36]
And when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female," and God was well aware of what she has delivered, "and the male is not like the female, and I have named her Mary, and have commended her and her descendants to Your protection, from Satan the outcast."
[3:155]
Those of you who turned back on the day when the two armies clashed—it was Satan who caused them to backslide, on account of some of what they have earned. But God has forgiven them. God is Forgiving and Prudent.
[3:175]
That is only Satan frightening his partisans; so do not fear them, but fear Me, if you are believers.
[4:38]
And those who spend their money to be seen by people, and believe neither in God nor in the Last Day. Whoever has Satan as a companion—what an evil companion.
[4:60]
Have you not observed those who claim that they believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you, yet they seek Satanic sources for legislation, in spite of being commanded to reject them? Satan means to mislead them far away.
[4:119]
"And I will mislead them, and I will entice them, and I will prompt them to slit the ears of cattle, and I will prompt them to alter the creation of God." Whoever takes Satan as a lord, instead of God, has surely suffered a profound loss.
[4:120]
He promises them, and he raises their expectations, but Satan promises them nothing but delusions.
[5:90]
O you who believe! Intoxicants, gambling, idolatry, and divination are abominations of Satan's doing. Avoid them, so that you may prosper.
[5:91]
Satan wants to provoke strife and hatred among you through intoxicants and gambling, and to prevent you from the remembrance of God, and from prayer. Will you not desist?
[6:43]
If only, when Our calamity came upon them, they humbled themselves. But their hearts hardened, and Satan made their deeds appear good to them.
[6:68]
When you encounter those who gossip about Our revelations, turn away from them, until they engage in another topic. But should Satan make you forget, do not sit after the recollection with the wicked people.
[6:142]
Among the livestock are some for transportation, and some for clothing. Eat of what God has provided for you, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. He is to you an outright enemy.
[7:11]
We created you, then We shaped you, then We said to the angels, "Bow down before Adam;" so they bowed down, except for Satan; he was not of those who bowed down.
[7:20]
But Satan whispered to them, to reveal to them their nakedness, which was invisible to them. He said, "Your Lord has only forbidden you this tree, lest you become angels, or become immortals."

[7:22]

So he lured them with deceit. And when they tasted the tree, their nakedness became evident to them, and they began covering themselves with the leaves of the Garden. And their Lord called out to them, "Did I not forbid you from this tree, and say to you that Satan is a sworn enemy to you?"

[7:27]

O Children of Adam! Do not let Satan seduce you, as he drove your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their garments, to show them their nakedness. He sees you, him and his clan, from where you cannot see them. We have made the devils friends of those who do not believe.

[7:175]

And relate to them the story of him to whom We delivered Our signs, but he detached himself from them, so Satan went after him, and he became one of the perverts.

[7:200]

And when a suggestion from Satan assails you, take refuge with God. He is Hearing and Knowing.

[7:201]

Those who are righteous—when an impulse from Satan strikes them, they remind themselves, and immediately see clearly.

[8:11]

He made drowsiness overcome you, as a security from Him. And He sent down upon you water from the sky, to cleanse you with it, and to rid you of Satan's pollution, and to fortify your hearts, and to strengthen your foothold.

[8:48]

Satan made their deeds appear good to them, and said, "You cannot be defeated by any people today, and I am at your side." But when the two armies came in sight of one another, he turned on his heels, and said, "I am innocent of you; I see what you do not see; I fear God; God is severe in punishment."

[12:5]

He said, "O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers, lest they plot and scheme against you. Satan is man's sworn enemy.

[12:42]

And he said to the one he thought would be released, "Mention me to your master." But Satan caused him to forget mentioning him to his master, so he remained in prison for several years.

[14:22]

And Satan will say, when the issue is settled, "God has promised you the promise of truth, and I promised you, but I failed you. I had no authority over you, except that I called you, and you answered me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I cannot come to your aid, nor can you come to my aid. I reject your associating with me in the past. The wrongdoers will have a torment most painful."

[15:31]

Except for Satan. He refused to be among those who prostrated themselves.

[15:32]

He said, "O Satan, what kept you from being among those who prostrated themselves?"

[16:63]

By God, We sent messengers to communities before you, but Satan made their deeds appear alluring to them. He is their master today, and they will have a painful punishment.

[16:98]

When you read the Quran, seek refuge with God from Satan the outcast.

[17:53]

Tell My servants to say what is best. Satan sows discord among them. Satan is to man an open enemy.

[17:61]

When We said to the angels, "Bow down before Adam," they bowed down, except for Satan. He said, "Shall I bow down before someone You created from mud?"

[17:64]

"And entice whomever of them you can with your voice, and rally against them your cavalry and your infantry, and share with them in wealth and children, and make promises to them." But Satan promises them nothing but delusion.

[18:50]

We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam." So they bowed down, except for Satan. He was of the jinn, and he defied the command of his Lord. Will you take him and his offspring as lords instead of Me, when they are an enemy to you? Evil is the exchange for the wrongdoers.

[20:116]

And when We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam." They bowed down, except for Satan; he refused.

[20:120]

But Satan whispered to him. He said, "O Adam, shall I show you the Tree of Immortality, and a kingdom that never decays?"

[22:52]

We never sent a messenger before you, or a prophet, but when he had a desire Satan interfered in his wishes. But God nullifies what Satan interjects, and God affirms His revelations. God is Omniscient and Wise.

[22:53]

In order to make Satan's suggestions a trial for those whose hearts are diseased, and those whose hearts are hardened. The wrongdoers are in profound discord.

[24:21]

O you who believe! Do not follow Satan's footsteps. Whoever follows Satan's footsteps—he advocates obscenity and immorality. Were it not for God's grace towards you, and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever. But God purifies whomever He wills. God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

[25:29]

He led me away from the Message after it had come to me; for Satan has always been a betrayer of man."

[26:95]

And the soldiers of Satan, all of them.

[27:24]

I found her and her people worshiping the sun, instead of God. Satan made their conduct appear good to them, and diverted them from the path, so they are not guided.

[28:15]

Once he entered the city, unnoticed by its people. He found in it two men fighting—one of his own sect, and one from his enemies. The one of his sect solicited his assistance against the one from his enemies; so Moses punched him, and put an end to him. He said, "This is of Satan's doing; he is an enemy that openly misleads."

[29:38]

And Aad and Thamood. It has become clear to you from their dwellings. Satan embellished for them their deeds, barring them from the path, even though they could see.

[31:21]

And when it is said to them, "Follow what God has revealed," they say, "Rather, we follow what we found our parents devoted to." Even if Satan is calling them to the suffering of the Blaze?

[34:20]

Satan was correct in his assessment of them. They followed him, except for a group of believers.

[35:6]

Satan is an enemy to you, so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his gang to be among the inmates of the Inferno.

[38:41]

And mention Our servant Job, when he called out to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and pain."

[38:74]

Except for Satan. He was too proud, and one of the faithless.

[38:75]

He said, "O Satan, what prevented you from prostrating before what I created with My Own hands? Are you too proud, or were you one of the exalted?"

[43:62]

And let not Satan divert you. He is an open enemy to you.

[47:25]

Those who reverted after the guidance became clear to them—Satan has enticed them, and has given them latitude.

[58:10]

Conspiracies are from Satan, that he may dishearten those who believe; but he will not harm them in the least, except by leave of God. So let the believers put their trust in God.

[58:19]

Satan has taken hold of them, and so has caused them to forget the remembrance of God. These are the partisans of Satan. Indeed, it is Satan's partisans who are the losers.

So he lured them with deceit. And when they tasted the tree, their nakedness became evident to them, and they began covering themselves with the leaves of the Garden. And their Lord called out to them, "Did I not forbid you from this tree, and say to you that Satan is a sworn enemy to you?"

and when wild beasts are gathered together,1 (At-Takwir 81:5)

And there is not a beast in the earth but the sustenance thereof dependeth on Allah. He knoweth its habitation and its repository. All is in a clear Record. (Hud 11:6)

It is to God that everything in the heavens and earth submits, every beast that moves, even the angels- they are free from arrogance: (An-Nahl 16:49)

That they may witness things that are of benefit to them, and mention the name of Allah on appointed days over the beast of cattle that He hath bestowed upon them. Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor unfortunate. (Al-Hajj 22:28)

And for every nation have We appointed a ritual, that they may mention the name of Allah over the beast of cattle that He hath given them for food; and your god is One God, therefor surrender unto Him. And give good tidings (O Muhammad) to the humble, (Al-Hajj 22:34)

And when the word is fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast of the earth to speak unto them because mankind had not faith in Our revelations. (An-Naml 27:82)

O ye who believe! Fulfil your indentures. The beast of cattle is made lawful unto you (for food) except that which is announced unto you (herein), game being unlawful when ye are on the pilgrimage. Lo! Allah ordaineth that which pleaseth Him. (Al-Ma'idah 5:1)

Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. (Al-Muddaththir 74:51)

Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maitah (the dead animals - cattle - beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which Allâh’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering, (that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allâh, or has been slaughtered for idols) and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns - and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild animal - unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death) - and that which is sacrificed (slaughtered) on An-Nusub (stone-altars). (Forbidden) also is to use arrows seeking luck or decision; (all) that is Fisqun (disobedience of Allâh and sin). This day, those who disbelieved have given up all hope of your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me. This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islâm as your religion. But as for him who is forced by severe hunger, with no inclination to sin (such can eat these above mentioned meats), then surely, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Al-Ma'idah 5:3)

Soon shall We brand (the beast) on the snout! (Al-Qalam 68:16)

How many are the creatures that cannot secure their provisions! ˹It is˺ Allah ˹Who˺ provides for them and you ˹as well˺. He is indeed the All-Hearing, All-
Knowing. (Al-'Ankabut 29:60)

eviction & foreclosure MAGIC

 Al hajj 40

Ali Imran 195

https://www.noblequran.com/translation/surah20.html

The Meeting of the Two Parties, Musa's Propagation of the Message and the Magicians

Allah, the Exalted informs that when Fir`awn and Musa agreed to an appointed meeting at a specified place and time, Fir`awn began to gather some magicians from the cities of his kingdom. Every person who had any affiliation with magic at that time was summoned, and magic was very widespread and in demand at that time. This is as Allah says

 57. He [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "Have you come to drive us out of our land with your magic, O Musa (Moses)?

58. "Then verily, we can produce magic the like thereof; so appoint a meeting between us and you, which neither we, nor you shall fail to keep, in an open wide place where both shall have a just and equal chance (and beholders could witness the competition)."

59. [Musa (Moses)] said: "Your appointed meeting is the day of the festival, and let the people assemble when the sun has risen (forenoon)."

60. So Fir'aun (Pharaoh) withdrew, devised his plot and then came back.

61. Musa (Moses) said to them: "Woe unto you! Invent not a lie against Allah, lest He should destroy you completely by a torment. And surely, he who invents a lie (against Allah) will fail miserably."

62. Then they debated with one another what they must do, and they kept their talk secret.

63. They said: "Verily! These are two magicians. Their object is to drive you out from your land with magic, and overcome your chiefs and nobles.

64. "So devise your plot, and then assemble in line. And whoever overcomes this day will be indeed successful."

65. They said:"O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw first or we be the first to throw?"

66. [Musa (Moses)] said: "Nay, throw you (first)!" Then behold, their ropes and their sticks, by their magic, appeared to him as though they moved fast.

67. So Musa (Moses) conceived a fear in himself.

68. We (Allah) said: "Fear not! Surely, you will have the upper hand.

white without evil

[28.32] Enter your hand into the opening of your bosom, it will come forth white without evil, and draw your hand to yourself to ward off fear: so these two shall be two Proofs arguments from your Lord to Firon and his chiefs, surely they are a transgressing people.

29. When Moses had completed the term, and departed with his family, he noticed a fire by the side of the Mount. He said to his family, “Stay here, I have glimpsed a fire. Perhaps I can bring you some information from there, or an ember from the fire, that you may warm yourselves.”

30. When he reached it, he was called from the right side of the valley, at the Blessed Spot, from the bush: “O Moses, it is I, God, the Lord of the Worlds.

31. Throw down your staff.” And when he saw it wiggling, as if it were possessed, he turned his back to flee, and did not look back. “O Moses, come forward, and do not fear, you are perfectly safe.

32. Put your hand inside your pocket, and it will come out white, without blemish. And press your arm to your side, against fear. These are two proofs from your Lord, to Pharaoh and his dignitaries. They are truly sinful people.”

33. He said, “My Lord, I have killed one of them, and I fear they will kill me.

34. And my brother Aaron, he is more eloquent than me, so send him with me, to help me, and to confirm my words, for I fear they will reject me.”

35. He said, “We will strengthen your arm with your brother, and We will give you authority, so they will not touch you. By virtue of Our signs, you and those who follow you will be the triumphant.”

Pickthall: We are your protecting friends in the life of the world and in the Hereafter. There ye will have (all) that your souls desire, and there ye will have (all) for which ye pray.

Surah Fussilat - 34

4. That He may recompense those who believe and do good works. Those will have forgiveness, and a generous provision.

5. As for those who strive against Our revelations, seeking to undermine them—for them is a punishment of a painful plague.

Surah An-Nahl - 90

٩٠ Indeed, Allah commands justice, grace, as well as generosity to close relatives. He forbids indecency, wickedness, and aggression. He instructs you so .

Chapter (40) sūrat ghāfir (The Forgiver God)

I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every scorner who believeth not in a Day of Reckoning. Yusuf Ali: Moses said: "I have indeed called upon my Lord and your Lord (for protection) from every arrogant one who believes not in the Day of Account!"

In the Quran, the verse where someone seeks refuge from an arrogant person is found in Surah Ghafir (Chapter 40), verse 27, where Moses says, "I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who believes not in the Day of Account.".

And Pharaoh said, “Let me kill Moses, and let him call upon his Lord! I truly fear that he may change your traditions or cause mischief in the land.” New! Moses replied, “I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant person who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning.”

The identity of the pharaoh who wanted to kill Moses in the Bible is debated, but many scholars believe it was King Ramses II. Some evidence for this includes:

  • The Bible mentions building cities for Pharaoh, including Pithom and Ramses
  • Egyptian records show that the 19th dynasty kings launched a military program in the Levant
  • Ramses II built Per Atum, a city dedicated to his patron, Atum
  • The name Rameses appears in the Bible as a place name
However, there is also ambiguity surrounding the identity of the Exodus pharaoh. The Bible has a recurring motif of erasing the name of an enemy, and some passages in the Bible may suggest that the Exodus pharaoh's name was intentionally erased.
