WTF they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome,

In the Book of Mormon, the Lamanites were cursed and driven from the presence of the Lord after they separated from the Nephites and hardened their hearts against the Lord. The curse was a result of their iniquity and their decision to drive Nephi, the Lord's anointed servant, from their midst. The Lord caused a "skin of blackness" to come upon the Lamanites, their families, and those who chose to affiliate with them. This was a miraculous act of God, and was not a natural result of sun exposure.

2 Nephi 5[21] And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.

The Book of Mormon also describes the following lands:
Jaredite land northward: This land extended from the line between Desolation and Bountiful to the Jaredite north sea, the Gulf of Mexico.
Desolation: A Nephite-named land that was part of the Jaredite land northward.
Bountiful: A land that bordered the west sea and was part of the land southward.
