ant

Proverbs 6:6   Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

  Proverbs 30:25   The antare a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;

The Quran, in Surah An-Naml (The Ants), tells the story of Prophet Solomon (Suleiman) who was granted the ability to understand the language of animals, including an ant warning its colony about his approaching army, teaching lessons in humility, respect for all life, and divine wisdom. While many Muslims believe this was a literal event, some see it as a metaphorical narrative or dramatization, reflecting common literary tropes of talking animals found in older traditions, with the story highlighting Solomon's exceptional gifts from God and the ant's communal awareness.

Key aspects of the story in the Quran:Surah An-Naml (27): This chapter details the event where Solomon's army, including humans, jinn, and birds, passes through a valley of ants.
The Ant's Warning: A single ant warns others to hide, saying, "O ants, enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his hosts crush you unknowingly" (27:18).
Solomon's Reaction: Solomon understands the ant, smiles in amusement, and prays for guidance to be grateful for God's blessings (27:19).
Divine Gift: This ability to understand animals was a unique miracle and sign of wisdom bestowed upon Solomon by Allah.
